Review: Ghost Golf Anyday Bag
When it comes to golf bags, I’ve always been picky. I have had the same OGIO cart and stand bags for 8 plus years prior. Storage, durability, ease of use, and overall quality matter, especially when you’re expecting the bag to last as long as my previous ones have. After well over a year with the Ghost Golf Anyday 5.0 Stand Bag, I can confidently say this bag delivers on nearly every front. Nearly.
First Impressions
Right out of the box, the Anyday 5.0 exudes premium quality. Yes, I have heard the Vessel comparisons etc, but for this I am just going to focus on the product that I have in hand. Never owned a Vessel bag and only seen a handful in the wild. The materials not only look fantastic but are easy to clean, which is a massive plus if you play in various conditions as I do. The grey colorway in particular has a subtle but unique look that often garners compliments, and I appreciate the modern aesthetic without it being too flashy.
For those concerned about branding, I’ve seen some reviews mention that Ghost Golf puts their name/logo in too many places. They do, but personally, it doesn’t bother me. It’s not over-the-top or loud, and for a newer brand, I get why they want their name out there.
Storage and Functionality
One of my favorite things about this bag is how well-thought-out it is. Ghost Golf clearly took time to integrate small features that golfers will appreciate over multiple rounds. I like the parallel design and don’t mind the lack of a long pocket.
- Ample storage, even though there’s no large full-length pocket.
- Magnetic pockets for quick access.
- Cooling pockets that actually work.
- Soft, full-length dividers that accommodate oversized grips.
- Carbon fiber legs that add to stability and durability.
- Clips and handles that make lifting and moving the bag easy.
- Rain hood that’s well-designed and functional.
The 14-way top divider is a standout feature. I’ve been a firm believer in 14-way stand bags for a while, and this one reinforces my stance. Keeping clubs organized, preventing shaft clatter, and easily grabbing the right club makes a big difference over a full round.
Another great touch? The single and double strap options. Whether you want to carry for a round, throw it on a trolley, or strap it to a cart, this bag adapts seamlessly.
Performance and Durability
Now, let’s talk about real-world use. Over a year in, this bag still looks practically new. The materials hold up incredibly well, even with regular use, and it continues to feel premium every time I grab it.
Stability is another big win. The legs are solid even if they don’t go down quite as far as I expect, and it stands just fine whether you’re on flat ground or a slope. That said, there’s one area where it has a minor drawback: weight. This isn’t the lightest stand bag out there, so if you’re a walker who prefers to carry every round, you might find it a bit much for 18 holes day after day. That said, the extra weight comes with added support and functionality, so it’s a trade-off I’m personally fine with.
The Few Downsides
No product is perfect, and while I love this bag, there are a couple of things to note:
- The zippers could be better. Ghost Golf has reportedly improved them since I purchased mine, but they weren’t the smoothest when I first got the bag.
- Weight. Not the heaviest, but also not the lightest. If you’re walking every round, you’ll notice it.
- Price. This bag isn’t cheap. That said, it’s proven its value over time. With how well it’s held up, I don’t mind the investment.
Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?
Absolutely. For me. The Ghost Golf Anyday 5.0 stand bag delivers premium quality, thoughtful design, and high-end materials. The storage, 14-way divider, durability, and unique features make it a fantastic option for golfers who want a luxury stand bag that functions well across different setups.
I loved this bag so much that my wife got me the GT14 for my cart setup, which I’ll be reviewing soon with a special twist related to my kids. Stay tuned for that.
Ghost Golf has won me over, and while I haven’t splurged on all their accessories yet, I can confidently say they’re a brand doing things the right way. The competition in the bag space is fierce, but this one stacks up and performs. My only real gripe is the weight, or maybe I just need to hit the gym.
If you’re in the market for a high-quality stand bag with premium touches, great organization, and long-lasting performance, the Ghost Golf Anyday 5.0 is absolutely worth considering.
